PRODUCT QUESTIONS
Q: Will the Bleach London hair colours show up on dark hair?
A: No sorry, the colours won't show up on brown, black, or dark hair as they do not contain any lightening agents. These types of dyes work best on bleached blonde or naturally blonde hair. For the pastel shades to take, the hair needs to be a very light blonde. If you'd like advice on using the products or bleaching your hair, please tweet us at @bleachworldwide. If you don't want to (or can't) bleach your hair for whatever reason, we recommend trying out the Bleach London Hair Crayons & Fudge Urban Hair Chalks, which both show up on dark hair and wash out after each use.
Q: Do you sell the Bleach London Total Bleach, Dip Dye, or Beach Lights kits?
A: We're very sorry but we can't sell these items because it's illegal to send products that contain peroxide (hair bleach) by airmail. However, if you would like a similar product to bleach your hair, we recommend buying L'oreal Quick Blue Powder and L'oreal Developer from Amazon or your local hair supply store. You need both as you will need to mix them together.
Developer comes in different numbers for strength. Get 20 Volume if you have light hair - eg. blonde, ginger, or light brown hair, 30 volume if you have medium to dark hair, or 40 volume if you have very dark brown, black, or asian hair. Don't buy 40 volume unless you have very dark hair thinking it will help make you blonder faster. It doesn't work like that, you will just cause extra damage to your hair for no reason. We also recommend picking up a tint bowl, a wide tint brush, and some close-fitting gloves. You can find these items at either Amazon or Sally's Beauty (hair supply store); the staff in there are usually trained hairdressers and should be able to help you.
Q: Do you sell the Bleach London White Toner?
A: Although this item is a toning dye, it still contains peroxide so unfortunately we can't send it in the post. Instead, I recommend buying the Bleach London Silver Shampoo and/or Silver Conditioner which will give you a ash blonde, white colour. Or, if you would prefer silver, grey or lilac toned hair (like Lou Teasdale's), we recommend using Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo. You can buy it from www.bodycare2000.com, they ship worldwide for free.
Side note: We don't recommend using toners that contain peroxide. Although the percentage of peroxide in toning dyes is low (15-20 Volume), toners usually need to applied on full length of hair, which means you're applying peroxide to areas of the hair which are already bleached, causing further damage. This might be acceptable if the colour lasted, but toning dyes don't routinely last long because bleached hair is porous (like a sponge) and doesn't hold colour well. Bleach blonde hair actually needs to be toned on a very regular basis if you want it to stay white or silver, and repeated application of hair dye/peroxide will eventually just cause the hair to snap off. You can prevent this by using purple shampoo instead of toning dyes. Toning shampoos are completely non-damaging, give great results, last as long as you use the product, are cheaper in the long run, plus it's a much, much easier application process, you just put it on in the shower!
Q: Do you sell the Bleach London Dry Shampoo?
A: Sadly, this item is also illegal to post outside of the UK as it's an aerosol. A great alternative (and personal favourite of ours) is Batiste Dry Shampoo, it comes all kinds of different fragrances, and now even comes in colours to match your hair. You can find it on Amazon.com and most beauty stores sell it too.
Q: Could you give me some advice/help with my hair?
